Following appointment as a High Court Judge in 2011, he sat mainly in the Commercial Court in London. Professor Neale Gregson is a full-time professional arbitrator and mediator and has been based in Singapore since 1991.

Capt F C Lee is a practising arbitrator in Singapore, Hong Kong and in recent years, London. His arbitration career started in 1995 and since then, has sat in many maritime arbitrations in time and voyage charter disputes, shipbuilding contractual disputes, international sales contracts’ disputes as well as some insurance claims either as a sole arbitrator or as part of a tribunal with other prominent arbitrators from Hong Kong, Singapore, Norway, Australia and UK. He has acquired considerable experience in international arbitrations and in return, has been giving talks to some institutions and professional associations on arbitration practices from a practitioner and users’ perspective. He has a very modest arbitration career and as someone coming from a non-lawyer background, he has made steady progress.

He was awarded Global Shipping and Maritime Lawyer of the Year for both 2010 and 2011 by Who’s Who Legal. In December 2011 he featured in Lloyds List Top 10 Legal Personalities and was a finalist for the Lloyds List Global Shipping and Maritime Lawyer of the Year award 2012. Lei Theng has been teaching, training and practicing mediation and negotiation since 1993. She launched the first Negotiation and Mediation Workshops at NUS Law. She was part of the Committee of ADR under the Ministry of Law which developed community mediation in Singapore and also part of the pilot project on commercial mediation at the Singapore Academy of Law which lead to the formation of the Singapore Mediation Centre. She mediates in a wide variety of disputes and runs various workshops on dispute resolution and conflict management for different audiences. Lei Theng was previously a litigator in practice and as a full time academic now runs a clinical legal education programme where she makes regular appearances in Court.

Seng Onn is an International Mediation Institute accredited mediator and sits on the panel of mediators of SMC and Singapore International Mediation Centre. He has mediated and resolved a great diversity of disputes. In addition, he is an experienced trainer, having conducted many conflict management workshops around the world as the lead instructor.

 

Seng Onn was called to the Singapore Bar in 1989 and was a practising lawyer before his involvement in mediation.

Dr Melis Özdel is head of graduate maritime law studies at University College London (UCL). She convenes the International Trade Law and Carriage of Goods by Sea modules and co-convenes the International Arbitration Law module. She is also deputy director of the UCL Centre for Commercial Law. She has written extensively in the areas of international trade law, carriage of goods by sea, international commercial arbitration and conflict of laws and jurisdiction. She is the author of Bills of Lading Incorporating Charterparties (Hart Publishing 2015) and the co-author of EU Transport Law (Hart-Nomos-Beck, forthcoming). Melis acts as a trade representative within GAFTA. She is also a member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and a supporting member of the LMAA.

Professor Anselmo Reyes SC

Anselmo Reyes has been Professor of Legal Practice at Hong Kong University since October 2013.  Before that, he was a judge of the Hong Kong High Court from 2003-12, when he was in charge of the Construction and Arbitration List (2004-8) and the Commercial and Admiralty Lists (2008-12).  He was called to the Hong Kong Bar in 1986, taking silk in 2001.  In April 2013, he became Representative of the Asia-Pacific Regional Office of the Hague Conference on Private International Law.  He became an International Judge of the Singapore International Commercial Court in January 2015.

Toh Kian Sing is a Senior Partner and Head of the Shipping & International Trade of Rajah & Tann Singapore LLP (which has the largest shipping practice in Singapore).  He obtained his law degrees from the National University of Singapore and the University of Oxford and was appointed Senior Counsel in 2007.  Author of the book, Admiralty Law and Practice (now into its second edition), he handles a variety of contentious shipping and commodity work, ranging from charter party, international sales to shipbuilding claims.  Kian Sing also regularly sits as arbitrator in shipping and commodity disputes.  Proficient in Chinese, he is also a Visiting Professor at the Dalian Maritime University.
